2016 F385BH Features and Options

This Columbus fifth wheel 385BH by Palomino will have you and your family easily enjoying a fun filled weekend away! This unit features FIVE slides, a bunkhouse for the kids, one and a half baths, and so much more!

Step inside the center most entry door and see a wide open interior with dual opposing slides. There is a bench seat straight ahead along the interior wall with overhead storage. To the left of the door there is a refrigerator, three burner range and microwave slide. A pantry nearby can easily hold your canned items and dry goods, while the hutch and entertainment center provide adds storage and a place for the 40" LED Smart TV, plus optional fireplace if you like.

A center island features a double kitchen sink and includes two bar stools.

Opposite the door side is another slide that provides mealtime seating with a free standing dinette and home theater seating for two with overhead storage and cup holders.

To the rear is a bunkhouse featuring a 72" jackknife sofa with 30" x 72" bunk above . There is an eat and play flip-up counter top with space for a TV on one side, and wardrobe along the exterior wall. The opposite side features a 39" x 72" flip down bottom bed with 30" x 72" bunk above. A half bath is just off the bunk room featuring a toilet and sink, plus private entry.

Turn right once inside the main entry and head up the steps to a side aisle bath and front bedroom. Notice the small closet on the left as you head up the steps. The bath features a 60" x 30" walk-in shower with dome, toilet, vanity with sink.

The front bedroom features a queen slide out bed with nightstands, or optional king. There is a wardrobe along the front wall with sliding doors including a shelf inside. A second closet with washer/dryer prep also features a shelf. There is a linen cabinet in the center and a dresser opposite the bed with TV box above, plus so much more!

Palomino Camping Trailer construction began in 1968 with the dream of Mr. Vern Landey. Mr. Landey had been a tent trailer distributor for several years when he felt he could design and produce better quality units than were currently being offered to the public. He would design units which were lightweight and offered convenient floorplans at affordable prices. He began designing and producing Palomino pop-up tent trailers in a small building in Savage, Minnesota.

As demand for the Palomino grew, Mr. Landey felt it would benefit his company, Vanguard Ind., to relocate. With most manufacturers and industry suppliers located in the Elkhart, In. area the move eastward seemed logical. Vanguard Industries settled in the community of Colon in 1972. Once in Colon he began to put his plans in motion. By 1973 he had built the main production facility and within days Palomino tent trailers were rolling out the doors.

In 1976, Vanguard added its own Needle Division, in 1978 its own Metal Fabrication Plant, and has several cold storage facilities. On May 27, 1992, the primary production building and offices were destroyed by fire. By late August, 1992, the first 1993 model Palomino rolled of the line in the new 52,300 sq. ft. facility, which was built on the same site as the previous building had been.

The year 1998 continued to see expansion with the addition of a new 75,000 sq. ft. production facility, and another storage facility.  In 2002 Vanguard was purchased by Forest River, Inc. This allowed for rapid growth and the introduction of two new towable lines of travel trailers and fifth wheels, Puma and Sabre by Palomino.

In 2005, Forest River, Inc. and it's divisions were acquired by Berkshire Hathaway.  Palomino RV operates as a separate division of Forest River Inc., and has grown from humble beginnings in Minnesota to one of the top 5 RV manufacturing facilities in North America.
