{"id":7329,"date":"2026-05-21T19:02:02","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T19:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.interactcp.com\/blog\/funtownrvcom\/?p=7329"},"modified":"2026-05-21T19:02:03","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T19:02:03","slug":"dukes-favorite-spots-around-the-u-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.funtownrv.com\/blog\/dukes-favorite-spots-around-the-u-s\/","title":{"rendered":"Duke&#8217;s Favorite Spots Around the U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Duke\u2019s favorite spots to visit are all&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;U.S.&nbsp;from state parks&nbsp;or&nbsp;local&nbsp;places&nbsp;for&nbsp;fun and quick&nbsp;staycation.&nbsp;This country&nbsp;has so much to offer&nbsp;when&nbsp;you are ready to explore and take a road trip across the United States of America!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Palo Pinto&nbsp;State Park is 75&nbsp;miles from Fort Worth with over&nbsp;4,500 acres&nbsp;of former ranchland that is now is now a state park.&nbsp;There at 16 miles of multipurpose trails.&nbsp;The trails can get far in the back country&nbsp;and look&nbsp;far and wide&nbsp;off&nbsp;vistas.&nbsp;You\u2019ll&nbsp;find&nbsp;the&nbsp;90-acre Tucker Lake that you can kayak-canoe&nbsp;launch or&nbsp;fish at.&nbsp;Palo Pinto&nbsp;park&nbsp;loans&nbsp;equipment to visitors if&nbsp;needed,&nbsp;and you&nbsp;don\u2019t&nbsp;need a fishing license here to fish.&nbsp;Duke recommends this&nbsp;new Texas&nbsp;state park; you&nbsp;won\u2019t&nbsp;be disappointed by this new&nbsp;hangout!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit the\u00a0Campsites at\u00a0Wilderness\u00a0Resort\u00a0at Disney World!\u00a0You\u2019ll\u00a0be able to enjoy\u00a0the outdoors and\u00a0camp\u00a0with\u00a0what you expect to find when parked at an RV Park!\u00a0The campsites are fully\u00a0equipped with electricity and sewage\u00a0hookup,\u00a0so you\u00a0won&#8217;t\u00a0have to worry about keeping track of your black tank during the week.\u00a0The amenities of this\u00a0outdoor\u00a0resort will\u00a0make\u00a0you feel like you are out in\u00a0one of\u00a0the national\u00a0parks! The picturesque\u00a0pine and cypress forest\u00a0with\u00a0deer, rabbits, ducks, and armadillos on this\u00a0750-acre\u00a0resort. The campsites come with outdoor grills but also the resort has a snack bar and\u00a0casual\u00a0dining area.\u00a0The unique thing Disney offers is\u00a0that it\u00a0offers\u00a0RV Rentals and will be delivered there so if you\u00a0are trying\u00a0to figure out\u00a0what RV makes sense for you!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a unique park that has drawn people to central Texas to see the massive pink granite dome. Since this park is near Fredericksburg,&nbsp;you\u2019d&nbsp;be able to visit easily while staying in town. Enchanted Rock is easy to hike; anyone can climb to the top of the granite that views the whole Hill Country from up there. It is a unique stargazing experience and does not have light pollution. With only 11 miles of trails, you can make it a fun family day trip!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tubing down the river is a unique Texas tradition. There are several rivers to choose from in Texas. Bring your friends and family for a fun day out! This is most likely\u00a0a whole day\u00a0activity so bring food, water, and tons of sunblock! You can choose from the San Marcos River, Comal River, Brazos River, or the Guadalupe River \u2013 these rivers have different entry points so choose\u00a0what&#8217;s\u00a0easiest for you to get to.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Broken Bow Oklahoma has been one of the most popular spots in the last few years. It is easily accessible to Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana by being in southeast Oklahoma. This community has several RV Resorts to choose from that will fit your needs. Broken Bow has public amenities like boat rentals, fishing, hiking, and more! The town has easy access to Beavers Bend State Park to\u00a0go and visit\u00a0to hike their trails. Fishing at Broken Bow is one of Duke\u2019s favorite things to do after a busy day of\u00a0rustling up\u00a0deals on RVs; Broken Bow has some of the best fishing in Oklahoma.\u00a0It not only offers conventional fishing\u00a0at the lake but also\u00a0fly\u00a0fishing. Pay attention to local and state Game &amp; Wildlife Regulations to know what you need to do.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Big Bend National Park is\u00a0a pristine\u00a0untouched landscape\u00a0filled with\u00a0fossils and biodiversity that you\u00a0wouldn\u2019t\u00a0expect to ever see in the desert.\u00a0The rich history of the park\u00a0is tangible;\u00a0walking along the\u00a0riverbeds\u00a0you easily find fossils or shark teeth casually\u00a0any day of the week.\u00a0You can easily find old settlements\u00a0dotting\u00a0the\u00a0park\u00a0that\u00a0are\u00a0easily accessible.\u00a0You\u2019ll\u00a0find the past mining operations that are left behind, rich with its own history in the region like the famous ghost town, Terlingua.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Terlingua Chili Cook Off is a&nbsp;World-Famous&nbsp;Competition&nbsp;since&nbsp;1967,&nbsp;has been attracting people to compete for the best chili in&nbsp;the world. The mission and fundraising of the&nbsp;competition&nbsp;are&nbsp;to support ALS and Terlingua Schools&nbsp;and local groups that&nbsp;help the community each year. This Ghost Town sees a population&nbsp;increase over&nbsp;the first weekend&nbsp;of November; they host all kinds of food competitions and concerts nightly.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indiana Dunes National Park is\u00a0a conservationist dream to see. Tons of biodiversity in 15,000 acres\u00a0that\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0come across soaring\u00a0200-foot\u00a0dunes that rise above Lake Michigan.\u00a0This state park has tons of trails for you to hike to try out!\u00a0You&#8217;ll\u00a0find you can cross country\u00a0skiing\u00a0following the trails that are marked.\u00a0These\u00a01000-year-old\u00a0dunes are home to tons vegetation and animal life that you can\u00a0observe.\u00a0The Indiana Dunes is great for birding to experience a diversity of birds.\u00a0Come visit\u00a0the Dunes but while\u00a0you&#8217;re\u00a0there visit some of our local dealerships like\u00a0Fun Town RV\u00a0North Detroit and\u00a0Fun Town RV\u00a0Indianapolis.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duke has so many recommendations around\u00a0United States\u00a0that you can make day trips or find local finds that will get you excited!
